Data collection and processing when visiting our website

Every time you visit our website, data is stored in log files:

  • Name of the retrieved file,
  • Date and time of retrieval,
  • Volume of data transferred,
  • Message about successful retrieval,
  • Web browser,
  • Operating system,
  • Your provider,
  • the country of origin of the requesting system,
  • the website from which you have accessed our site (referrer),
  • the sub-websites you visit on our website,
  • IP addresses of the requesting computers.

This data is not aggregated and therefore does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about specific individuals.

We use these log files for anonymised statistical evaluation in order to optimise our website and its content and to ensure the functionality and protection of our IT systems, and thus the protection of the data we process, and, if necessary, to be able to provide law enforcement authorities with the necessary information in the event of attacks on our IT systems. These are our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO. We store the data of our server log files separately from any other personal data. They are deleted as soon as they are no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which they were stored or if their storage is not permitted for other legal reasons.

The data collected from you when you visit our website and use our forms (contact request, registration, customer account registration, search terms, etc.) are processed on the servers of our host provider on our behalf.

The servers are located within the EU. To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Our legitimate interest in the use of this service within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO is the fault-free output and presentation of our website, as well as the maintenance of information security.

Information about cookies[1]

We use cookies to optimise our website. These are small text files that are stored on your computer via your browser. Cookies contain a unique identifier, the so-called cookie ID. This enables the websites and servers visited to recognise and assign the specific internet browser. This enables us to provide you with better access to our site. This is because recognition prevents you, for example, from having to re-enter login data or from having your shopping basket deleted in online shops when you surf other pages. Our legitimate interest in the use of cookies within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO is to make the use of our website intuitive and to facilitate your access.

You don't want that?

You can prevent cookies from being stored on our website by selecting "Block cookies" in your browser settings. However, this may restrict the functionality of our website for you.

All common browsers also offer you options for individual handling of cookies. You can install appropriate add-ons or set them so that only cookies from third-party providers are blocked, all cookies are deleted after closing the browser or that websites are generally not allowed to track user activities (do-not-track).

You can find information for the respective browsers under the following links:

Google Analytics with anonymisation function[2]

Our website uses the web analysis service Google Analytics, operated by Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland and Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics sets cookies on the system you use when you visit our website (see above) in order to analyse how you use the website. With the help of the cookie, your IP address, time, place and frequency of your visit to our website may be transmitted to Google servers not only in Ireland but also in the USA and processed there. As we use the anonymisation function, your IP address will only be stored anonymously by Google, and the last octet of the IP address will be set to zero before storage. Our legitimate interest in using this service within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO is to analyse our offer and the reach of our website and to optimise it for our visitors.

What happens then?

Google evaluates your use of the site and creates so-called reports on the duration of use and activities of the website. We use this service for statistical evaluation in order to optimise our website and its content for you and to increase the reach of the website. Google also uses the data to optimise its own offers. The information is passed on by Google to third parties who process data on behalf of Google or insofar as a transfer is required by law or ordered by a court of law.

You don't want that?

You can use a deactivation option offered by Google, in which case, according to Google, no information will be transmitted to Google Analytics. You can find more information about this option here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

You can find more information on the terms of use and data protection at: https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at: https://policies.google.com/ and at: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Analytics advertising functions, remarketing, Google Ads and conversion tracking

We use the Google Analytics extension advertising features in conjunction with Google Ads, operated by Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland and Google LLC., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google "cookies" are set for ad preferences. These transmit further data beyond the usual Google Analytics information, whereby the IP address is anonymised, as is also the case with the standard Google Analytics functions. Google analyses your usage and surfing behaviour based on your web or app browsing history and also draws on data from third-party providers. This allows Google to draw conclusions about, for example, age, gender, location and interests. The authenticated user IDs are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data. This enables us to use the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google Ads to adapt advertising to target groups and to address visitors to our website with our offers in a personalised manner (remarketing/targeting).

This can happen across devices so that, for example, you can be shown advertising in your smartphone browser according to your interests, which have been determined on the basis of your browsing behaviour in browsers of other devices, such as PCs or tablets, if you have consented to Google within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. a) DSGVO that the information from the browsing history of your respective devices is linked to your Google account. Google forms usage profiles from your data for the purpose of target group-oriented advertising and market research and also evaluates these for the purpose of designing its own offers. You can revoke the consent granted there vis-à-vis Google by, for example, deactivating Google's cross-device personalised advertising: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/ Here is more information: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/7395996

Conversion tracking

We use "conversion tracking" in connection with Google Ads. When you click on one of our Google ads, Google stores a "conversion cookie" with a validity of 30 days in your browser. The cookie is not used to identify you, but to recognise your browser if you visit our website within this period after clicking on our ad. The cookies cannot be tracked across websites of multiple Ads clients, as a different cookie is assigned to each advertiser.

Google uses this information to create anonymised statistics for us, which we use to identify which advertising campaigns are successful. We learn the total number of people who clicked the ad and were redirected to one of our pages tagged with a conversion tracking tag. If you have disabled or blocked cookies as described above or have not consented to their use, then you will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.  We do not receive any further data, in particular we cannot identify you from this information.

Remarketing pixel

We have added a Google Ads tag to our website.  This is a web tag library for Google's website analytics and conversion tracking solutions. We can use it to set up a target group source on our website and thus reach users who have already visited our website. This allows us to show you our advertisements when you continue browsing. This is done by means of Google cookies stored in your browser or other identifiers that recognise your browser.

We also use dynamic remarketing event snippets, with which we transfer data about visitors to our website and the actions they perform there to Google Ads, e.g. for target group allocation. According to Google, this data is pseudonymised.

Our legitimate interest in the use of these services within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO is to analyse the use of our website in order to tailor our offer and our advertising to your interests. If you have consented to Google aggregating the data in your Google account, this will be done exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent with Google at any time. If we have obtained your consent, which can be revoked at any time (e.g. consent to store cookies), the processing is based on Art. 6 (1) a DSGVO.

You can prevent cookies from being saved by selecting "Block cookies" in your browser settings. You can also install so-called AdBlocker add-ons or plug-ins. You can deactivate Google tracking and the use of cookies and device identifiers here https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb#display_optout Cookies from www.googleadservices.com are generally blocked. Alternatively, you can manage the use of device identifiers in your settings, as described here: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/1660762#mob

However, this may result in a functional restriction of our website for you.

All common browsers also offer you options for individual handling of cookies. You can install corresponding add-ons or set them to block only third-party cookies, to delete all cookies after closing the browser (NOTE: this also applies to opt-out cookies) or to generally not allow websites to track user activity (do-not-track).

You can disable interest-based ads from the providers that are part of the self-regulatory campaign "About Ads" via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices. You can also disable cookies for interest-based advertising through the ad network initiative by following the instructions at: http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

You can find more information on data protection and advertising with Google at: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads respectively.

Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymised user profile. Hotjar is contractually prohibited from selling the data collected on our behalf.

Furthermore, Hotjar uses third-party services such as Google Analytics and Optimizely, which also process data, e.g. the IP address and cookie information.

We only set Hotjar cookies with your consent in accordance with Art. 6 I lit. a) DSGVO. However, Hotjar also offers the option of specifying that you generally want to prevent analysis by Hotjar in your browser. To set up this "Do-Not-Track", follow the instructions that Hotjar publishes for all common browsers in the current version here: https://www.hotjar.com/de/legal/policies/do-not-track/

If you use multiple browsers or different devices, you will need to repeat each step. Your browser will then send a message to Hotjar to deactivate the tracking of the respective user.

Newsletter registration

You can subscribe to our newsletter to regularly receive current offers, dates, advertising or similar information about us by e-mail.

Your express consent is required for this. We proceed according to the double opt-in procedure: You first enter your name and your e-mail address, if applicable with optional interests, and after registration you receive an e-mail in which you are informed about the registration for the newsletter and asked to confirm it via the link provided. Among other things, this serves the purpose of preventing the misuse of third-party e-mail addresses. Registration, confirmation or unsubscription are logged by us, i.e. your IP address and the time of registration, as well as confirmation or unsubscription, are stored so that we can prove that your consent meets the legal requirements, which corresponds to our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO. Legal bases are: Art. 6 I lit. a) DSGVO and § 7 II No. 3 u. III UWG.

We transmit the email address you provide, as well as your name if applicable and optionally your interests to a newsletter delivery service provider: Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126,10179 Berlin.

The provider evaluates the data statistically for its own purposes in order to optimise the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter as well as its own offers. There is no direct contact or transfer of data to third parties. You can find out more in the provider's data protection declaration: https://de.sendinblue.com/datenschutz-uebersicht/.

The newsletters contain so-called "web beacons". These are transparent image files that are loaded from the provider's server when you read the newsletter online and whose download is registered. We also determine whether and when you read the newsletter and which links you click, if any. We use the information transmitted in this process, including your IP address, your provider and thus your country of origin, the browser and operating system as well as the access time, to optimise the newsletter service and to adapt our content based on your reading behaviour and interests. Our legitimate interest in using this service within the meaning of Art. 6 I lit. f) DSGVO is to be able to adapt our offer and advertising according to your usage.

Your declaration of consent is completely voluntary and can be revoked by you at any time. To do so, click on the "unsubscribe" link in one of the newsletters or inform us of your revocation by other means using the contact details provided. If you unsubscribe, we will delete your data or restrict processing by entering it in a blacklist.
